I started my new job Dec. 13, and I’ve been loving every second of it.
few months ago there was an opening for Web Producer at the Telegram & Gazette — I put in for it, and was the first interviewed.
First one in, last one standing =)
Two weeks later, and I am throughly enjoying the fact that I work 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday with absolutely no weekends.
No more dealing with going into work at 4 or 5 p.m. to get out at 11:45 p.m. or midnight. No more dealing with coaches who call in their scores. No more dealing with athletic directors who yell at the Sports department for something that his coach screwed up. No more working 3:30-11:45 p.m. on a Saturday and not being able to hang out with my friends on a night where UFC or a major boxing match is taking place. No more missing out on weeknight events with my friends because I am working. It feels awesome.
I have a pretty busy January ahead of me: I am in New York City Jan. 21 for Korn/Disturbed’s Music As A Weapon Tour at the Hammerstein Ballroom — an excellent show, no doubt — and then I will be in the Dominican Republic Jan. 28-Feb. 1 for my brother’s wedding. All-inclusive (including liquor) vacation at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana for the wedding for the whole weekend. Oh, and Presidente beer on tap. Yum!
I have a two-day work week this week. Because I have two floaters to burn, I only work today and tomorrow — Suh-Weetah! — and then I am off until the new year. Just awesome! Still not sure what I am doing New Year’s Eve, maybe the same thing I did last year — hang out with Joe and Jimmy. Still have plenty of time to coordinate it.
I need to lose about 20 more pounds before I go to DR. Can I do it in a month? I think so. Dedication is all it takes. That, and a little basketball action. Where is unknown, but as often as possible and with the proper diet it will happen!
That’s about it for today.
Catch you on the flip side.
