“When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May …”
Not quite cold outside, but the month of May is going to be awesome!
Last year, my friend JB helped set up Jonathan Davis, the lead singer of Korn, with a trip to Ramstein Air Force Base. He wound up doing some cool stuff with airmen before visiting wounded soldiers at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. Sebastien Paquet filmed it all and a documentary-short came out of it. Here’s an article about it and a 42-second clip of the documentary. On May 12, the film will be shown at at the G.I. Film Festival in Washington, D.C. and I will be there for the screening and the awards dinner afterward in support of Josie and Jonathan Davis.
From D.C., JB and GW and I will be headed to Pennsylvania where we’ll be met by TJ for some down time and to prepare for Korn’s first show on tour in Belle Vernon on May 15. JB will fly back to Germany — where she’s stationed — after the Korn show and it will be GW, TJ and I headed to Columbus, Ohio, for Rock on the Range on May 17 and yet another Korn show. Following that, we head home.
The next weekend, I will be in Connecticut for a comedy show, then New York City for Mets-Braves Sunday night and then to (hopefully) hang out in the city while visiting the Samuels — including my first meeting with the Katie Bear — on Memorial Day before heading back home.
I keep pinching myself, and yes I am awake and yes that’s all happening.
I am extremely fortunate for all these opportunities and am thankful for them every day.
